• About Lori

I fell in with the feminists as an undergraduate at SUNY Albany in the early 90's, where Women's Studies led to the goal of becoming a midwife. You see, early on I recognized that childbirth was an empowerment tool accessible to most women regardless of race, class, or social status. If women could birth babies with trust in themselves, they could know their power. That knowing would reverberate through their lives.

My path has been winding. First as a social worker in rural South Dakota, then a labor and delivery nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, and eventually a Master's from the University of New Mexico in Nursing- Nurse-Midwifery. I went on to support the women of NM, mostly in out-of-hospital birth until my life circumstances made a more sustainable schedule and lifestyle necessary.

For the last 10+ years I have practiced in clinic settings providing comprehensive women's health and primary care- first at Southwest Care Center, and most recently at Mountain Spirit Integrative Medicine.

A few years ago, in a quest to discover treatments more enduring than accumulating pharmaceuticals I wanted to learn about therapies that address root causes and made lasting health possible. I completed Aviva Romm's rigorous and excellent Women’s Integrative and Functional Medicine Professional Training Program. I love seeing my patients benefit from the lifestyle-based approaches I learned in that course along with the herbal knowledge I have self-taught over my lifetime.

I am thrilled to get back to work after a much needed year-long sabbatical, and to be starting my own practice which I hope will allow me more time and flexibility with you!!

My own healing journey started around age 50 when menopause challenged me to change patterns, generate new meaning in relationships, examine addictions, and nurture new interests and connections. I can speak knowledgeably about the challenges of becoming a more conscious, responsible, grounded human.

I enjoy entering into conversations on these topics and offering my tools, suggestions, experiences and insights.

I share my life with my husband of 30 years, Chris, my three children and their partners, and my three year old granddaughter, two dogs, one cat and eight chickens.

I love reading, gardening, hiking, music, meditation, dancing, painting, having fun with good people, and watching the incredible NM sunsets...

I'm looking forward to caring for you! Call today or fill out the form to schedule for an appointment in early 2026.
